Sometimes it feels like all we do is work. When we wake up we have to get ready for the day, get our children ready, make sure our husbands get up, get to work, clean the house, go to school, come home and get clean the house, take care of the children, and do any homework we have. It seems like an endless day of non-stop working and cleaning. In the midst of all this many of us forget to have one of the most important meals of the day – breakfast.
I know that many people believe that breakfast is a meal that can easily be left behind isn’t nearly as important as dinner or lunch – but they are wrong. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you will lose weight quickly by skipping. It is an unsafe way of doing it.
What most people don’t realize is that you need a certain amount of calories per day to keep your body running the way it should. “Eating just about anything in the range of 300 to 400 calories would be better than nothing at all,” says SELF contributor Katherine Brooking, R.D.
Another great thing about eating breakfast is that it will help to jump start your metabolism – which in turn will help you to burn off more fat and it can keep you from snacking a lot during the day. Researchers discovered that those who skip breakfast are often bigger than those who eat it regularly.
So when you wake up tomorrow morning make sure that you eat some yogurt, cereal, or even a slice of leftover pizza. Anything that can make up those calories and jump start your day will work great!
