Great Ways To De-Stress After Work

The saying, ‘Don’t take your work home’ is true when it comes to the emotions that you take from it. At least that is what most people believe. It’s true that if you are upset at someone or frustrated with the work you are doing you should leave it at work.

Your home with your family is the place for you to be relaxed and where you should feel at ease. Being upset can acctually be bad for your health and heart. Plus you don’t want to take your anger out on those you love.

Unfortunately some people have a hard time letting go of their frustration than others. There are many different ways to de-stress yourself before you get home and while you are at home. After leaving work while you are driving home don’t let yourself get even more angry at the traffic – but rather be thankful for it.

Turn the music on to a station that you like and jam out to it. You can listen to New Age music – which can help you to clear your mind and will put a smile on your face. You can put on some of your favorite rock music or rap if you like it and sing along to it and maybe even bust a few head moves. Don’t worry if people are looking just imagine that you are by yourself and no one can see you. Dance and sing off your worries. We recommend that you keep your favorite CD in the car. That way you don’t have to listen to those annoying commercials or music you don’t like.

If you find that you need a bit more time when you come home than you should draw yourself a bubble bath. Ask your husband to make the dinner for the kids. Not only will this give them time to bond – but it will allow you a bit of time off.

Put some scented candles around your bathroom, grab a book, and soft relaxing movie and soak for at least 30 min. You’ll find your mind and your muscles relaxing. This is probably the best de-stressor that anyone can try.

Don’t forget to let your hubbie know that you had a rough day (but not by yelling at him). He may surprise you with a back rub and foot massage. Don’t be afraid to be pampered just remember to return the favor every now and than.
